(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - “On the advent of 2011, I take great pleasure in extending to the citizens of the OIC Member States and to all people of the world, a very happy and prosperous New Year,“ said The Secretary General of the Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC), Professor Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu in a message.
He continued, ”The New Year provides us with a fresh opportunity to further consolidate and strengthen the international community’s collective efforts to the causes of peace, stability, security and development. “
“On the occasion of welcoming the New Year, I call upon all to take a renewed vow to join hands in combating all those forces who seek to disrupt global peace and security.
Let us strengthen our resolve to embrace diversity and understanding among faiths and civilizations and devote our resources and energies to develop a culture of tolerance and goodwill for all humankind to coexist in peace and harmony, Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu underlined.
He said at the end of the message, “The OIC remains committed to cooperate with the rest of the world towards reaching this coveted goal.”
